On September 26, 2016, Vermont (U.S) based Seventh Generation Inc, (SG), a producer and distributor of environment-safe household products, announced that it would be acquired by the Anglo Dutch multinational consumer goods giant Unilever PLC (Unilever). Although no financial terms were disclosed regarding the deal, Fortune reported that Unilever would pay around US$600 million to US$700 million in cash to acquire SG . Viewing the acquisition as a chance to expand its sustainable mission, to reach billions of people around the world, John Replogle, (Replogle) CEO SG said, “Today marks the next chapter and we’re proud to join Unilever and its shared vision for purpose-led business on a global scale.
